Oatmeal White Chocolate Chip Cookies with Dried Cranberries

in Sweet Things

I have to share this recipe because it is a good one.  I normally am not a fan of white chocolate because I think it is a little too sweet, yeah I know, strange for the girl with the sweet tooth but in these cookies with the dried cranberries, yum-o!  I also am not a fan of raisins and chewy things in my cookies but dried cranberries seem to go very well with oatmeal and white chocolate, go figure.  My kids even liked them and they were a bit leery to try them but these cookies got a thumbs up.

Oatmeal White Chocolate Chip Cookies with Dried Cranberries

Ingredients:
1 cups brown sugar
1 cups granulated sugar
1 cups soft butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 cups oatmeal
1 1/2  cups all purpose flour

1 bag 11.5 oz of white chocolate chips
1 6 oz. bag of dried cranberries
2 T. water or milk if needed

Directions:
Step 1: Cream sugars and butter together, add eggs and vanilla, mix well.

Step 2: Add dry ingredients half at a time and mix well.
Step 3: Bake at 350 degrees for 12-14 min. depending on the size of your cookie. I make mine large.

I also find white chocolate to be very sweet, but I'd imagine the tartness of the cranberries really helps that out – these look really, really good!

This is a favorite combo in my house! I think the sweet and the tart really help balance each other out. Your picture makes me want to reach in and take a big bite out of one! Thank you for the sweet comment!

Where have you been? Love your cranberry cookies, just my type. Also your crostata looks amazing. I ended up doing a cranberry and caramel one. Great blog.

I'm not a big fan of white chocolate either but these look amazing! Are they crumbly or chewy cookies?
